Desdev = DevNet - Subscription Service

Tuesday, February 11th, 2003

Today Macromedia announced the launch of Macromedia DevNet Subscriptions. There are two levels of DevNet subscriptions: DevNet Professional and DevNet Essentials. DevNet Essentials is a yearlong subscription to the DevNet Resource Kit (formerly Developer Resource Kit) and includes four DRKs a year. DevNet Pro is a software subscription service consisting of Macromedia MX tools, servers, and DevNet Essentials. Both levels include access to a personalized subscriber portal where you can manage your license(s) and download the latest software, servers, DRKs, and upgrades based on your subscription level. This would be a nice thing for Macromedia to share with all the resource site webmasters out there, to give them something back for helping out their customers ;) Wink, Wink, Nudge, Nudge. You can pre-order your subscription now. [Via Mesh On MX]

FlashComm: Virtual Reality Chat

Friday, February 7th, 2003

Thomas Glyn, the man of all things flash & three dimensional has been putting his time to good use lately, coding away, building a killer virtual reality chat room application, utilising the backend power of Flash Communication Server MX. There are alot of nifty little bits of trickery in their that dont immediatley jump out at you so do a bit of fiddling around! (Try dragging the map dots while playing with the different camera angles - You can view the environment from another chatters point of view for example…)
